We started ConnectMarket because buying and selling in Africa too often meant scrolling through unverified listings, risking your money on WhatsApp deals, and hoping the person on the other end was real.
Our team — engineers, designers, and operators based in Lagos — set out to fix that. We combined ID verification, escrow-protected payments, hyper-local search, and AI fraud detection into one platform that works for barbers, tailors, food vendors, designers, and every kind of African entrepreneur.
Today, ConnectMarket serves buyers and sellers across all 54 African countries, with deep neighbourhood coverage in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and beyond.
